Absence
How do two individuals slowly become one, but still manage to stay, well, individual? We were talking about it that day, how two people can fall so hopelessly in love that they block everyone else out. I'm not sure if that is a good thing because isn't it bad to hurt others for the sake of your own happiness? Yet somehow this idea of sharing your world with just one person is so romanticized. It's nice to spend time apart. Perhaps that should be said with caution, because what if you grow apart as well? But being apart makes you more appreciative of the time you do spend together, and it makes the whole process of falling in love less....dangerous I guess. It keeps you in check, that you don't invest every day in just one person and that you still do things that make you happy, on your own. You don't just feel appreciative of time, but also of people and who they are. And it's an unexplainably magical thing for two independent people to become one. So thank you for teaching me about love.
(Because I've been listening to this show while working late nights.)
